Samsung Launches New Galaxy Tab to Beat iPad

Samsung Electronics has finally announced a new version of its Galaxy Tab on July 21^th 2011, in Seoul. The firm speculates that it is the right tempo to introduce its product to the market due to the competition with Apple’s iPad.
Recognized as high-end apparatus, the tab supported by Android’s Honeycomb 3.1 developed for tablet PCs, features a 10.1-inch (25.6 cm) touchscreen display monitor, different from the previous version.

Having 8.6 millimetres of measurement, Samsung admits New Galaxy Tab is the world’s thinnest tablet today. The  prior seven-inch tab was also optimized for portability, while the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is suitable for multimedia and web browsing.
As one of world’s biggest cellular phone vendor, Samsung will also launch an advanced version of its Galaxy smartphone in the US market, which is dominated by Apple’s iPhone, in August.
In contrast, Apple claims Samsung’s accusing of the copyrights because of imitating smartphones and tablet computers, although, Samsung stays in its demeanor of Apple’s evidences of breaking the patents.
The allies of US company try to ask the US International Trade Commission to stop imports to the United States of some of the Samsung’s products.
In fact, during these days Samsung has already distributed its Galaxy Tab 10.1 in five overseas countries including the United States which approximately costs 671,000 won ($601) in domestic market.

Samsung SCH-I405 will Come to Verizon with 4G Capability

Three of the big four carriers already have or will have new mid-end Android smartphones with slide-out QWERTY keyboards and 4G network capabilities. We can see T-Mobile with its Sidekick 4G and Sprint with its upcoming Samsung Conquer 4G. As for the Verizon Wireless, rumors say that it will release a new mid-end Samsung Android smartphone with slide-out QWERTY keyboard, the SCH-i405.

The upcoming Verizon’s Samsung SCH-i405 will be an upgraded version of the Sprint’s Samsung Epic 4G from last year. Those upgrades include the Android 2.3.4 with Google Talk video chat, Super AMOLED Plus screen with WVGA resolution, Samsung’s Hummingbird processor, and 512 MB of RAM.
We can also say that the Samsung SCH-i405 is the Droid Charge with a slide out QWERTY keyboard. It is because there are many specs that are the same with the Droid Charge, except its battery and camera. If the Droid Charge is equipped with an 8 MP rear camera, the Samsung SCH-i405 will only be equipped with a 5 MP camera. Also, if the Droid Charge is supported by a 1600 mAh battery pack, the Samsung SCH-i405 will have a larger battery pack of 1800 mAh capacity.
Unfortunately, there is still no information about when the Samsung SCH-i405 will be released and what the official name of it will be.

How to Overclock Samsung Galaxy Mini up to 800MHz

Okay, today I’ll share nice tutorial about how to overclock your Samsung Galaxy Mini. After Motorola Defy, now the Gio finally got the overclock! Great!
Just remind you, overclocking can make your device smoother and faster, but remember, when you optimize the other side, you can get another side effect such as hardware malfunction, software inabilities etc.
Please remember : DO IT WITH YOUR OWN RISKS!
Ok, the way I overclock Samsung Galaxy Mini is using TASS_OC file. First, you have to root your device. Because we will use SetCPU app to set the Freq processor. Okay, here we go.
Note : If your Mini is hang or restarting, that means your Mini isn’t suitable for your current frequency, you should reduce the frequency until you get suitable frequency. REMEMBER, NOT ALL OF GALAXY MINI CAN BE OVERCLOCKED! SO, BEWARE!

1. Download TASS_OC file. You can download lower kernel here, If you fail and your device keep rebooting, you can download the STOCK kernel from XDA-Developer here
2. Extract TASS_OC.7z
3. Open S5570_Odin Multi Downloader v4.38.exe
4. Click the OPS tab, and choose TASS_v.1.0.ops
5. Click the PDA and fill with CODE_S5570DXKA8_REV02_OC.tar.md5
6. Turn off your phone, and run as “Download Mode” by holding Center key + Vol Down key + Power key
7. Wait until ODIN detect it, when you see yellow square with COM X (depend on your ports), Click START
8. Wait until the box become BLUE and said PASS. Restart your phone.
9. Install SetCPU, and you’re ready to overclock your device!
Note : If your Samsung Galaxy Mini hang or restarting, it means that your Mini isn’t compatible with your current frequency. Set it to get suitable frequency.

Kindle Fire 2 Emerged in China, Chassis Made by Catcher Technology

Aside from it’s amazing App Store, which recently celebrate it’s first birthday, Amazon is also known for it’s Kindle Fire tablet. Latest report suggest that the 7.0 inch e-Reader has become the most successful Android tablet that sit on the second place as the world’s best selling tablet, right behind Apple’s iPad. No wonder why Amazon planned to release the successor of the tablet.
There’s no official words yet from Amazon, but the next Kindle is expected to be called as Kindle Fire 2. Today, we receive a rumors that the tablet is emerged in China. A local company known as Catcher Technology has claims that they receive direct order from Amazon to assemble the Kindle Fire 2.
Unfortunately, there’s not too many details to revealed here. The company only stated that they will provide the tablet’s chassis for Amazon from their headquarter in Taizhou, China. Although this is not a too shocking news, it sounds like real since DigiTimes also quotes the same 4 days ago.

As we mention earlier, there’s no official explanation from Amazon about Kindle Fire. But, that doesn’t stop speculators to predict what kind of hardware specs that will be included in the next gen Kindle Fire. The tablet is expected to posses 7.0 inch screen, same as it’s predecessor, still no microSD card slot, and volume control. In addition, Amazon is also expected to release other version of Kindle Fire 2 with 9.0 inch screen. The tablets are considered as part of the company to compete against Apple New iPad, which recently introduced in San Fransisco few weeks ago.
So, will Amazon manage to nail the market once again with new Kindle Fire? Well, see. But as long as they manage to maintain good environment for their products, there will be lot of customers who don’t mind to spend $200 for new Kindle. Le Pan III Tablet Visits FCC Headquarter with Android 4.0 ICS

FCC is considered as the final stop for a tablet or smartphone before it is officially introduced by a carrier or available for purchase int the market. Today, the FCC headquarter welcome a new tablet that might never been heard in the industry, thanks to it’s silly name.
It is currently called as Le Pan III. We have no idea if those name is inspired from Peter Pan or even frying pan, but it is said to feature Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box, which is great. As you might already know, there’s only few android tablet that run on Android ICS since it’s first day. So, it is always nice to see a new ICS tablet released. It will be much better if the tablet manage to provide decent performance and tagged with the right price.

Anyway, Le Pan III sports 9.7 inch screen and powered by a Texas Instrument OMAP 4460 dual-core processors. It is currently clocked at 1.5GHz. In order to make sure that users will experience decent system performance, the manufacturer decided to include a full gigabyte of RAM and 8GB of internal data storage. When it comes to connectivity, this tablet is support for GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, and WiFi. There’s 5.0 megapixels camera on back and 2.0 megapixels on front. Sounds like a mid-range tablet for us.
Unfortunately, there’s no explanation about when this tablet will be available for purchase or for how much it will be priced.
